KFC’s Fried Chicken-Flavored Toothpaste Sells Out in 48 Hours—Yes, It’s Real

Brushing your teeth just got a lot more finger lickin’ good.

KFC has officially sold out its latest unexpected product—a fried chicken-flavored toothpaste—within just 48 hours of launch. The fast-food giant teamed up with Australian dental care brand Hismile to create a limited-edition toothpaste inspired by the iconic flavor of KFC’s Original Recipe chicken.

Retailing at $13, the toothpaste went live on April 1st, making many people believe it was an April Fools’ prank. But nope—it was completely real. KFC even confirmed that the launch wasn’t a joke, and fans across the internet were quick to clear it off shelves.

According to KFC, the toothpaste contains no fluoride and uses a formula that delivers “long-lasting oral health benefits” while coating your mouth in the brand’s famous 11 herbs and spices.

“Like biting into a hot, juicy piece of KFC Original Recipe Chicken, this toothpaste is irresistible, coating your teeth in flavor before leaving your mouth feeling fresh and clean,” a KFC news release said.

KFC’s General Manager Chris Jones added:

“We love pushing boundaries, and what better way to do that than by bringing KFC’s legendary flavours into an everyday essential? This collab is bold, unexpected, and seriously fun.”

Why Did It Sell Out So Fast?

Apart from the sheer novelty of brushing your teeth with chicken flavor, the launch played into nostalgia, curiosity, and some clever sensory marketing. While other toothpaste brands stick to mint and fruit flavors, this quirky move struck a chord with fans of the fast-food chain—and made waves on social media.

If you missed out, don’t worry—Hismile’s KFC-branded electric toothbrush, priced at $59, is still available. It features soft-tapered bristles, three dynamic cleaning modes, and a built-in timer—perfect for those who want their dental routine to come with a side of chicken-themed fun.

For now, there’s no official restock date for the fried chicken toothpaste. But one thing’s clear: when it comes to flavor, KFC doesn’t play by the rules.
