A registered sex offender with a bizarre history of sniffing women’s backsides has been arrested once again — this time at a Nordstrom Rack in Burbank, California.
According to the Burbank Police Department, officers were called to the store at the Burbank Empire Center on July 16 after reports of a suspicious man loitering in the women’s department. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect trailing a female shopper before crouching behind her and sniffing her rear end.
Police identified the man as Calese Carron Crowder, 38, a Glendale resident and registered sex offender with a long history of similar incidents. Crowder was later detained at a nearby Walmart, where officers tracked him using security footage.

A Repeat Offender with a Disturbing Pattern
Authorities say Crowder has been arrested multiple times for lewd acts in Burbank and Glendale since 2021, including “olfactory acts” in local bookstores — one of which went viral on TikTok in 2023. That same year, he was arrested for allegedly peeping into a Glendale home.
Crowder has previously served time for indecent exposure, burglary, and robbery, and was on active parole at the time of his latest arrest.
The Burbank City Attorney’s Office has filed one count of loitering with intent to commit a crime, and Crowder is currently being held on $100,000 bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 1.
