Some people just don’t learn…

A Missouri man has landed himself in hot water yet again after being caught trying to have sex with a train seat—for the second time in less than a year.
A Not-So-Romantic Obsession
Deangelo Covington, a St. Louis resident, has been charged once again with misdemeanor sexual misconduct after he was caught on MetroLink surveillance footage engaging in an inappropriate act with a train seat.
According to reports, the bizarre incident took place on February 13. Witnesses at the UMSL South MetroLink Station first reported Covington exposing himself in public. Later that day, he boarded a train at Central West End Station, and when it arrived at the Lambert Airport Station, he allegedly took things to another level—spending 10 whole minutes engaging in a sexual act with the upper bar of a train seat.
Authorities quickly launched an investigation and reviewed security footage, which provided undeniable proof of the unusual crime.
A Repeat Offender
Shockingly, this isn’t Covington’s first run-in with the law for train seat-related misbehavior.
Last June, he was caught in a similar act, exposing himself and attempting to engage in inappropriate conduct with a MetroLink seat. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 173 days in jail before being released after time served.

However, just ten weeks after his release, Covington found himself right back in jail—this time facing two new counts of sexual misconduct.
Judge Denies Bail & Lifetime Ban Issued
When Covington appeared in court on March 3, he requested a bond reduction from $50,000, but the judge refused, citing his repeat offenses.
Kevin Scott, General Manager of Security for Bi-State Development, which operates MetroLink, confirmed that Covington is now banned for life from using the train system.
“This individual is on that exclusionary list, and as a result of this act, he will receive a lifetime ban,” Scott stated.
Underlying Issues
During the hearing, it was revealed that Covington had drugs in his system at the time of his arrest and has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Additionally, records show that last May, Covington was convicted of sexual misconduct involving a minor under the age of 15.
While it’s unclear whether he will receive further jail time, his days of romancing public transportation are officially over.
