A popular theme park in Thailand is facing backlash after a bizarre toilet installation was exposed online. A two-way mirror inside a men’s restroom at Dream World Bangkok allows urinating men to watch unsuspecting women outside as they check their appearance.

Shocking Discovery Goes Viral
The controversy erupted after a video shared by an X (formerly Twitter) account called “Internet Hall of Fame” revealed the unsettling setup. The clip, which has since racked up over 11 million views and 30,000 likes, shows women unknowingly fixing their hair in front of the mirror, while men inside the restroom can see through it.

Social media users were outraged, calling the installation “gross” and “disturbing.” One user commented, “This is why we need architects who understand basic human decency. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.” Another added, “Maybe I’m too woke, but this feels incredibly misogynistic and degrading.”

Theme Park’s Explanation
The two-way mirror was reportedly installed in 2019, though it’s unclear if it remains in place. Thawat Yamkasem, Dream World’s Operations Director, defended the installation, saying it was meant to be a “fun experience for everyone.”
“Because the bathroom window is made from special glass, those on the inside can see outside, while outside it is just a mirror for those who pass to look at themselves,” he explained.
However, critics argue that this justification ignores serious privacy concerns.
Not the First Time
This isn’t the first instance of such a setup causing controversy. In 2021, a bar in Guangzhou, China, was found to have a two-way mirror in the women’s restroom, allowing men in a VIP room to watch them. Authorities later ordered its removal.
As of now, Dream World Bangkok has not confirmed whether the two-way mirror is still in use, but public outcry continues to grow.
