A Kansas babysitter was left stunned after checking for “monsters” under a child’s bed and discovering a 27-year-old man hiding there. The bizarre incident occurred on Monday evening near Great Bend, when the babysitter was putting the children to sleep at around 10:30 p.m. One of the kids mentioned a “monster” lurking in the room, prompting the babysitter to investigate.
Reviewing the security footage later, authorities identified the culprit as Martin Villalobos Jr., a man who once lived in the home but had been banned due to an existing abuse order. When the babysitter attempted to show the child that nothing was amiss, an altercation broke out between Villalobos and the babysitter. During the commotion, one of the children was knocked over. The suspect quickly fled the scene, prompting police to launch a search.

The following morning, sheriff’s deputies spotted Villalobos in the area and, after a brief foot chase, arrested him. He now faces multiple charges, including aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, child endangerment, felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer, and a violation of the protection order. Villalobos is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
