Kindergartner Brings Jello Shots to School and Hands Them to Classmates, District Confirms

A Pennsylvania school district is investigating a shocking incident after a kindergarten student brought Jell-O shots to school and distributed them to classmates.

According to a statement from the Greater Johnstown School District, the student gave what appeared to be alcohol in the form of small Jell-O cups to three other children at Johnstown Elementary School on Wednesday, May 14.

The district called it an “isolated incident” and said that school staff took immediate action once they became aware of the situation. The affected students were quickly evaluated by the school nurse, and emergency medical services (EMS) were called as a precaution.

The children were taken to a local hospital for further evaluation, where their parents met them, according to the statement. The Jell-O cups were confiscated, and the school is now working with local authorities to determine how the student obtained the alcohol.

“We want to assure our families that the health and well-being of our students is our top priority,” the district said in its release, signed by Superintendent Dr. Amy D. Arcurio.

In response to the event, counselors and support staff are being made available to help any students who may be struggling to process what happened.

The statement concluded by thanking the school’s staff, nurses, administrators, and police officers for their swift response.
