Lily Stewart, the University of Georgia student who became an internet sensation for her smiling mugshot, has been arrested again—just weeks after her first run-in with the law.

The 20-year-old first went viral after her March 8 arrest for speeding, when her perfectly styled mugshot, complete with pearl earrings and a fresh blowout, turned her into an overnight internet star. Fans dubbed her “Miss America” and flooded social media with jokes about her photogenic booking photo.
On March 23, Stewart was arrested again on charges of obstructing a law enforcement officer and loitering/prowling, according to Athens-Clarke County records. Campus police took her into custody around 5:30 a.m., and she was later released after posting a $4,600 bond.

Despite facing legal trouble once again, Stewart appeared just as confident in her latest mugshot, now dressed in a prison jumpsuit. The internet quickly reacted, with fans making fresh jokes about her viral status. On TikTok, Stewart even shared some of the funniest comments about her previous arrest, including remarks like, “She was just trying to get to brunch for bottomless mimosas!” and “That smile says my daddy is an attorney.” Others joked that she must have been racing to a Lululemon sale.
However, not everyone found the situation amusing. Morgan County Sheriff Tyler Hooks, who was involved in Stewart’s first arrest, criticized the social media attention, stating, “We should never glorify this type of behavior… I hope she doesn’t get the attention like she did last time.”
Stewart’s attorney confirmed that her initial speeding charge was dropped, but the student has still faced backlash, including unwanted attention from online trolls and “creepy messages” from strangers. Addressing her sudden internet fame, Stewart said, “I think it’s hilarious. I don’t know what all the hype is about. I just took a mugshot and went on with my day.”
